Oranges/Sardines Press is a new venture. We look forward to publishing a select number of engaging books in a variety of genres - art, poetry, memoir, fiction.

Reliquaries: The Sculpture of Ted Waltz

Ted Waltz has produced a late-career body of work that is at once original, intimate, highly realized and - until now - essentially unseen. This book brings together for the first time a comprehensive view of more than seventy sculptures, done over a period of nearly three decades. As William Benton writes, they constitute “a major work of imagination.”

Ted Waltz was born in Oregon and attended the Portland Museum Art School. He began his career as an abstract color field painter, but later transitioned to assemblage sculpture. The ongoing series titled Reliquaries was conceived in the early 1990’s. He has lived in Los Angeles, California since 1976.
